Spring is Here!

Spring is finally starting to show its presence in the weather here in southwest Oklahoma. After a round of fires in SW Oklahoma last week, we've thankfully had some showers, but will keep hoping for more.

This weekend starts the SW Oklahoma Springtime community events. Highlighted below are events and locations in Harmon, Greer, Jackson, Kiowa and Tillman Counties. Get out and explore our local communities.

This weekend from 26 to 29 April - Mangum will host its annual Rattlesnake Derby. This is something to experience! There is a rattlesnake hunt, flea market, carnival rides, rattlesnake displays and you can even taste rattlesnake if you are brave enough.

The weekend of 4 and 5 May - Altus will host its annual Rock and Rumble Car Show. This event includes a car show, cruise, burn out, live music and more.

The weekend of 26 to 27 May - Head to Hobart for their annual Celebration of Freedom event. This event features tours of General Tommy Franks Leadership Institute and Museum, a craft and vendor fair, skeet and trap shooting, golf scramble, silent auction and more.

There are also low cost and free things to do in SW Oklahoma anytime of the year. Below are several examples.
